Pastel Seascape Workshop

with Tricia Taylor
We will be playing with different water effects and doing a coastline that focuses on cresting waves and the shoreline to wet sand. Colour mixing theory and application techniques will also be one of the themes of the day.
It will be information packed but focused on having fun as play with pastels.

Materials List:
PASTELS –
whatever you have. A standard set of 40-60. Would be a
minimum. Obviously we will be using a lot of blues so a good range from French Ultra Marine to cerulean and through to turquoise in various tones will be handy. Sand will be soft terracotta oranges through to pinks and violets. So variety will be great.

Paper: Artspectrum colourfix paper Terracotta
Kneadable eraser
Old paint brush
Apron
Disposable gloves (optional)
Willow charcoal.
Padded board and bulldog clips to hold paper. ( just a foam core board will do but back it with 4-5 layers of butchers paper and it will make it softer to paint on)
Easel.
Soft drop mat for under the easel to prevent pastels breaking if dropped.

Reference Material. - We will work from your reference. (I will have some available you can work from if you do not have a photo of your own.)
